Accessible Boards Toolkit Launch Event

Thursday, June 20, 2019  |  6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Join us for an evening of discussion and reflection on accessible and disability-inclusive board governance that goes beyond conventional conversations about “diversity”.

Attendees will learn about onBoard Canada’s newest toolkit, “Invited, Understood and Embraced: A Board Governance Toolkit for the Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities.” Our toolkit provides organizations with practical strategies, sample policies, and specific tools to assess your board’s current state and readiness for accessible board governance, and ensure the full inclusion of persons with disabilities in leadership spaces.

Distinguished guest speakers - which include Mazin Aribi, Chair of TTC Advisory Committee on Accessible Transit; Yin Brown, City of Toronto’s Accessibility Consultant; Darren Cooper, Ryerson University’s Leadership in Accessibility & Inclusion Program Coordinator; and Taru Virkamaki, onBoard Canada’s Accessibility and Inclusion Subject Matter Expert - will discuss the need to address the lack of accessibility and inclusion on governance boards, as well as strategies and tools necessary for the full inclusion of persons with disabilities.

Refreshments will be served. Registration opens at 5:30 p.m.

Space is limited; register today!
